We are excited to share that this school year, we will continue with the House System as part of our continued efforts to build a strong, supportive, and connected school community.
The House System is designed to build student character, foster leadership, promote teamwork, and strengthen school spirit. Each student and staff member will be sorted into a House during the first week of school. Once sorted, students will remain in their House throughout their time at Heard, allowing them to form lasting bonds, create traditions, and grow together in meaningful ways.
Each House has a unique theme and value it represents:
Amistad – House of Friendship: Promoting connection, inclusion, and mutual respect
Altruismo – House of Givers: Cultivating generosity, compassion, and service
Isibindi – House of Courage: Empowering bravery, resilience, and standing up for what’s right
Reveur – House of Dreamers: Inspiring creativity, vision, and innovation
Nukumori – House of Kindness: Spreading warmth, empathy, and thoughtfulness
Students will earn points for their Houses through positive behavior, academic achievement, acts of kindness, and participation in school activities. House celebrations and friendly competitions will take place throughout the year to reinforce community, pride, and collaboration.
Once students are sorted into their Houses, you will receive additional information from the House Leaders outlining expectations, events, and how you can support this exciting new initiative at home.
We believe the House System will create a sense of belonging for all students and provide new ways to recognize and celebrate their strengths. We can’t wait to see the positive impact this will have across our campus!
