Wonder Why? Clubs
Wonder Why? Clubs provide Heard Elementary students with unique after-school enrichment experiences designed to spark curiosity and creativity. These six-week clubs are offered three times a year and are free of charge to families. Each session allows students to explore new interests, develop problem-solving skills, and engage in hands-on learning.
Previous Club Offerings
• French Club – Students are introduced to the French language and culture through interactive activities, songs, and basic conversational phrases.
• Gardening – Hands-on experience in the school’s outdoor learning spaces, where students plant, grow, and care for flowers, vegetables, and herbs.
• Volleyball – Students build teamwork, coordination, and athletic skills while learning the fundamentals of volleyball.
• Animals – A club for young animal lovers, offering opportunities to learn about different species, their habitats, and how to care for them.
• Math – Engaging activities and puzzles that challenge students to think critically and apply mathematical concepts in fun and creative ways.
• STEM Bins – Hands-on engineering and problem-solving activities that allow students to create, build, and experiment using various materials.
• Soap Making – A creative and scientific exploration of soap-making, where students learn about chemistry while crafting their own soaps.
• Imagination Playground – Large-scale building activities that encourage teamwork, spatial awareness, and imaginative play through oversized foam blocks and structures.

How to Participate
Wonder Why? Clubs are open to all students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
